As we began building pathways to better education, we realised that the learning environment played a pivotal role in changing behaviour in the teaching and learning processes. Recognising this, we decided to help transform classrooms in schools.
The Frog Classroom was designed to enable the use of technology, creativity, collaborative learning, critical thinking and communication - the components of 21st Century teaching and learning-in the classroom.
Our first classroom was transformed in 2014. Initially, the Frog Classroom was a project carried out by the YTL Group of Companies. Within a year, the Frog Classroom caught the attention of schools, parents, organisations and the Ministry of Education. As more schools came to know about the benefits of the Frog Classroom, YTL Foundation began partnering with Parent Teacher Associations (PIBG) to empower schools to transform their own classrooms.
Schools now can apply to have their own Frog Classroom. YTL Foundation will provide 14 units of custom made tables with 41 chairs and 2 air-conditioning units together with a toolkit to help the school build the Frog Classroom. Schools together with their PIBG will have to raise the remaining funds required for the transformation.
