With 120 students from lower income group families, the teachers and the head teacher wanted to change the school from an underperforming school to a high performing school. They soon realised that technology is an important part of education. YTL had then donated over 100 Chromebooks to the school to provide the students the leverage needed to raise their standards in education.
We trained teachers and students in the ‘Frog Virtual Environment’ programme. The students were mainly weak in english and mathematics. Through the chromebooks, the students practised these two subjects using programmes like ‘I am Learning’ and ‘Word Mania’.
The main aim of this initiative is to transform SK Jalan Selangor from an underperforming school to a high performing, technically literate school through internet connectivity, devices and the Frog VLE. The long-term goal is to create a sustainable model that can be replicated in other schools.
